Stepper motor serial controller1/1/2023 ![]() ![]() The KTA-290 is a major improvement over our KTA-190, featuring more accurate frequency generation, smoother ramping and USB communication. This allows control of up to 16 axes of motors. The card also acts as a USB to RS-485 serial converter, allowing you to multidrop up to 4 interface cards off the RS-485 serial line. Once connected to a computer, the card appears as a virtual serial (COM) port. ![]() The step and direction outputs of the card can connect directly to almost any stepper or servo motor driver, including the full range of our Leadshine motor drives. The controller is an upgraded version of our popular KTA-190. Simple commands allow the independent motion of the motors. This is a drop-in replacement for the EZ4AXIS.Description: The KTA-290 is a USB or RS-485 controller card that generates the pulses to feed to up to four axes of stepper or servo motor drivers. However it has updated more robust power drive electronics and also gold plated connectors. The EZ4AXIS23WV has identical micro processor and firmware as the standard EZ4AXIS. Our Starter Kits enable a first time user to make a Stepper Motor move intelligently in less than half an hour. ![]() The EZ4AXIS23WV Stepper Motor Controller will typically work with any stepper motor that is 3" or smaller (size23 or smaller). The Commands include nested loops and execution halt pending a switch closure, which is useful in stand-alone applications. It can be set to execute a preset string of commands upon power up (i.e., only power is required in this mode). The EZStepper is also capable of stand-alone operation with no connection to a PC. (This communications protocol is compatible with devices that use the Cavro DT or OEM protocol.) For example, the command A10000 will move the stepper motor to Absolute position 10000. However with careful selection of motors and/or improved cooling and/or low move time duty cycle it is possible to run motors at 2 Amps at m=100%. The EZ4AXIS23WV will drive 4 motors at 1 Amp with a setting of move current m=50 %. Commands can be issued from any serial terminal program (such as HyperTerminal) or from the EZStepper Windows application. (Eg 3V motor can be run with 24V supply). Operating from a 9V to 32V supply the controller regulates to any motor voltage via software command. Measuring only 2.25" x 2.25" X 0.6" (57mm x 57mm X 15mm), the fully intelligent stepper motor Controller + Drivers runs 4 fully independent stepper motors (see wiring diagram). ![]() The EZ4AXIS23WV was designed to allow the rapid implementation of multi axis stepper motor solutions in products requiring automation. ![]()
